video | Video journal “The Origins of the Nivkh language”

There are no adjectives in the Nivkh language, but there are a huge number of nouns denoting varieties of seals and fish, as well as numerals designed specifically for counting boats, nets or bundles of dog food. It is not like other languages and stands apart in the language world, being considered isolated. There are only about 20 people left in the world who speak Nivkh fluently.
The Department of Automation of library processes of the central model library prepared for users for the international Decade of Indigenous Languages of the Sakhalin region a video magazine "The Origins of the Nivkh language", after watching which everyone could get acquainted with the history of the origin of the language and its secrets.
