This year, the Republic of Karelia will host a competition of journalistic works in Karelian, Vepsian and Finnish languages. It will be dedicated to the International Decade of Indigenous Languages.
The competition will be held in October, the results will be summed up in December. The winners will receive diplomas from the Ministry of National and Regional Policy of Karelia and cash prizes.
The application can be submitted by media journalists, freelance correspondents, authors from Karelia. The competition will accept reports, essays, newspaper articles, TV and radio broadcasts in Karelian, Vepsian or Finnish, published from January 1 to September 30, 2022. Works in print and electronic media will be evaluated separately.
