This podcast takes the audience to the Amazon rainforest to learn about endangered language speakers and their language biographies. Why are there endangered languages in the Amazon? What has happened to the speakers? What can we do to support community efforts to preserve these languages? This podcast discusses these questions through dialogues with the speakers of endangered languages in the Amazon.

Este podcast es un viaje a la Amazonía para conocer sobre las lenguas que allí se hablan a partir de sus propios hablantes y sus biografías lingüísticas. ¿Por qué existen lenguas en peligro de extinción? ¿Qué ha ocurrido con sus hablantes? ¿Qué podemos hacer para evitar que una lengua desaparezca? En este podcast, abordamos estas preguntas a través de conversaciones con los propios hablantes de las lenguas consideradas en peligro de extinción en la Amazonía.

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads. While work is underway to provide an updated solution, the Secretariat of IDIL 2022–2032 remains available for any inquiries at: indigenous.languages@unesco.org.
