The project “Build Capacity for Indigenous Youth and Create an Indigenous Audiovisual Archive through Wiki Tools in Cambodia” implemented by UNESCO Bangkok in partnership with Wikimedia Foundation and Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center directly benefitted 24 Indigenous youth from the Brao, Jarai, Kachok, Kreung and Tampuan Indigenous communities of Ratanakiri Province in Cambodia. Indigenous youth participants developed basic computer skills, as some were using a computer for the first time, and learned how to upload their own media works documenting their Indigenous language and culture onto the open access platform Wikimedia Commons, and contributed to Wikipedia pages on their Indigenous communities. Visit the Indigenous archive’s wiki project page and view its contents by clicking on the Category link.

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads. While work is underway to provide an updated solution, the Secretariat of IDIL 2022–2032 remains available for any inquiries at: indigenous.languages@unesco.org.
