Asian Literary Society in association with India Habitat Centre organized a panel discussion on the book- Ebbing Echoes: An Anthology of articles on lesser-known languages & artforms of Indigenous Communities of Asia on 5th Feb 2023 at Gulmohar Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
Manoj Krishnan (Founder, Asian Literary Society), Dr. Amarendra Khatua (Former Secretary, MEA), Prof. Nandini Sahu, Former Director, School of Foreign Languages, IGNOU), Kalyanee Rajan (Asst. Professor, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College) were the panelists. This discussion was moderated by Mandira Ghosh (Eminent Author). ALS community leaders and members Anita Chand, Kiren Babal, Mousumee Baruah, Neeti Parti, Vandana Bhasin, and Manisha Amol also addressed the esteemed audience.
Manoj Krishnan shared his vision about the Asian Literary Society & its ALS indigenous languages community and highlighted strategies for the preservation of lesser-known and endangered languages. Dr. Amarendra Khatua gave an overview of the situation of endangered languages and how it is affecting all. Prof. Nandini Sahu stressed the importance of folklore and its study to save our rich heritage. Kalyanee Rajan focussed on the dying languages, art forms, and culture of the Middle East and Central Asia. Mandira Ghosh opined that it was not just a book or an anthology but a significant account of the dying and endangered language, and artworks that demand resurrection immediately.
Ebbing Echoes – An Anthology of Lesser-Known Languages & Art Forms of Indigenous Communities of Asia is a sincere attempt to take readers to the world of the indigenous languages and art forms of Asia. Asian Literary Society and its ALS Indigenous languages community endeavor to spread awareness about endangered languages, art, and literature.
This book has been edited and compiled by the Asian Literary Society’s Founder, Manoj Krishnan. Neeti Parti, Vandana Bhasin, Nisha Tandon, Mahua Sen, Sonal Singh, Dr. Bishakha Das, Sreemati Sen, Dr. Aparna Pradhan, Preethi Warrier, Sheela S. Iyer, Mousumee Baruah, and Neha Gupta have contributed their articles in this anthology.
