This manuscript emphasizes the importance of collaborative multidisciplinary work
in order to respect and validate the linguistic and cultural rights of the Tsotsil people in Chiapas,Mexico and the Neapolitan community in Naples, Italy. Also, concrete examples of the variousworks carried out to preserve and promote the Tsotsil and Neapolitan languages through theeducational system and other important tools such as the radio, television, videodocumentaries, publications in both peer-reviewed and non-peer reviewed journals and national and international conferences are mentioned.
All this, with the purpose of eradicating the erroneous and mystified mage that has been promoted of Tsotsil and Neapolitan speakers. In addition, the unfavorable reality, characterized by marginalization and discrimination, experienced by both communities and the factors that have led to this situation are stated.
Likewise, it is highlighted that the projects carried out to promote the Neapolitan and Tsotsil languages have been inserted as activities supported by international organizations and groups, and educational institutions such as universities in different countries in order to raise the status of these languages in academic spaces and defend the human rights of both Tsotsil and Neapolitan speakers.
