On October 21, at the initiative of the head of the Ural-Uzbekistan Friendship Society, Turatov Abid Shakirovich, the Day of the Uzbek Language Holiday was held in the Interethnic Library.
For the first time this holiday was celebrated in Uzbekistan in 2020. The date was not chosen by chance: October 21 is the day when the Uzbek language is granted the status of the state language. It was on this day in 1989 that the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the State language” was adopted.
The Vice-Consul of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Yekaterinburg Yuldashev Samandar Yunusovich made a welcoming speech.
On this day, activists of the Uzbek diaspora were awarded the gratitude of the Government of the Sverdlovsk region, and it was also possible to listen to Uzbek songs, see national dances and taste Uzbek treats.
