The republican action “Karelian Kruuga Flash Mob” has been traditionally held in Petrozavodsk since 2017 on the International Day of the Indigenous Peoples of the World on August 9.
This year, a flash mob, attended by 300 residents and guests of the city of Petrozavodsk, took place on the embankment of Lake Onega.
Kruuga is a traditional Karelian circular dance. In different places of Karelia, the dance was performed in its own way. Drawing circles depends on the imagination and ingenuity of the presenter. Now in Karelia, not a single holiday is complete without the performance of the Karelian song. This dance is a symbol of unity, peace and harmony between the peoples living in the republic.
