On April 6, 2024, the Sverdlovsk Regional Interethnic Library hosted the literary and musical program “Russia and Belarus: Two Countries – one Destiny”, dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. This holiday symbolizes the strong bonds of fraternal friendship, common cultural and spiritual values that bind Russians and Belarusians. The event was organized jointly with the Belarusian national cultural Autonomy “Belarusians of the Urals” – “BELUR” and the Sverdlovsk regional public organization “Ethnocultural Association “Russian World”.

The program was attended by the ensemble of the Slavic song “Dnepryanochka”, the folklore ensemble studio “Pogodushka”, the duo “Sudarushki”. The participants performed in national costumes. Songs and poems were performed in Russian and Belarusian. One of the most famous Belarusian musical works, “Belovezhskaya Pushcha”, was performed. The youngest participant Sofia Ivanova performed the song “Belorusochka” in the national language. The audience also heard songs recorded on expeditions to different regions of the Sverdlovsk region.
