LITERARY AND ARTISTIC PROGRAM “HAPPY IS THE ONE WHOSE NAME WILL BE REMEMBERED”

On February 8, at the initiative of the Ural-Uzbekistan Friendship Society, the Sverdlovsk Regional Interethnic Library hosted a literary and artistic program “Happy is the one whose name will be remembered”, dedicated to the 582nd anniversary of the Uzbek poet. , thinker and statesman Alisher Navoi.

The guests of the event were welcomed by the Director of the Sverdlovsk Regional Interethnic Library Olga Kalinina, Vice-Consul of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Yekaterinburg Samandar Yuldashev and Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Regional Public Organization “Society of Ural-Uzbek Friendship”. Alisher Navoi is a global figure. This is not only a poet, he is also the founder of the Uzbek literary language in the sense in which we perceive it today. He introduced the Turkic (Old Uzbek) language, along with Farsi, into the work of writers. The lyrical legacy of the poet is enormous. More than 3,000 of his works are known in the ghazal genre, the famous “Khamsu” (“Five”), which includes five poems, and much more.

Throughout the event, Alisher Navoi’s poems were performed in Uzbek, Russian, Tatar and Kazakh by students, representatives of national cultural societies and readers of our library. Also, members of the Ural-Uzbekistan Friendship Society introduced the guests to the magnificent – truly enchanting – music of the Uzbek people.

It can be said with confidence that the works of Alisher Navoi, glorifying and affirming friendship and mutual understanding between peoples, the beauty of man and life, love of work, the need to help those in need, have been and remain relevant.
