In Our Own Words is the first film festival in Poland dedicated to Indigenous cultures and languages.

We celebrate diversity and bring the culture and languages of different communities closer. We also focus on the problems faced by Indigenous peoples.

The three main themes of this year’s edition of the festival are:

– colonization and decolonization
– water, nature, nature
– “we’re still here!”

Film screenings will be interweaved with meetings with representatives of the communities presented on the screen, researchers, scientists, filmmakers, and activists.
During the 4 days of the festival, we will present 14 films and hear the indigenous languages of North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and Aotearoa New Zealand.
During the film festival, we will organize an Evening of Diversity – an open accompanying event with live music, dancing, and singing in many languages, as well as refreshments from around the world.
Come and experience a different perspective. See through the eyes of representatives of different communities. Listen to their stories, try to get to know and understand their world. With humility, openness, and respect for other people.
