The Days of Slavonic Culture and Literature is a series of events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the creators of the Slavonic alphabet – the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles brothers Cyril and Methodius.
The events are aimed at enlightenment and spiritual and moral education, familiarizing students and schoolchildren of Moscow with the commonality and diversity of cultures of the Slavic peoples, expanding their knowledge of the civilizational heritage of Russia and the Slavic world. The Slavonic Culture and Literature at MPGU are designed to promote the formation of civic, national and civilizational identity among the students and young teachers, their self-determination and socialization through exposure to the spiritual and moral values of the Slavic peoples, their historical experience of interethnic communication.

May 24, 2024 traditionally held events for students from Slavic countries on the theme of Slavic writing and culture. MPGU students spent together with their colleagues Belarusian National Technical University of Minsk. At the online meeting, the students told each other about the holidays, traditions of universities, about what opportunities for professional realization they see in our countries, what music they listen to, how they spend their free time, what languages they speak.

The final chord of the meeting was a musical quiz “Songs of Slavic peoples”. The students were presented compositions of Eastern, Western and Southern Slavic peoples. The guys guessed in which language the song sounds, not only catching the peculiarities of pronunciation of individual sounds. They also attentively penetrated into the content of the lyrics: they listened to geographical names, names, words characteristic for this or that nation. The students of both countries, showing their erudition and attention, successfully guessed all the presented riddles.
