The final round of the annual Republican Competition-Festival “Bekalakh, Nenan Mott!” – 2024, dedicated to the Day of the Chechen Language, took place on April 26 at the Center for Culture and Arts in Kurchaloy.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Chechen Republic and the Center for Folk Art, with the participation of the A. Aydamirov National Library.

Goals and Objectives

The competition-festival aimed to foster spiritual, moral, and patriotic values in the younger generation by promoting the Chechen language, traditions, and culture. It also sought to identify and support talented children and youth.

Main Theme

The festival focused on stories about the Chechen people’s culture and history, conveyed through artistic expression, folklore, songs, folk humor, and satire.

Competition Stages

The competition was held in two rounds:

  • 1st Qualifying (Zonal) Round – March 12–15, at cultural institutions across the republic.
  • 2nd Final Round – April 26, at the Kurchaloy Center for Culture and Arts.

Based on the qualifying rounds, the best performances in the following categories advanced to the final:

  1. “Artistic Expression”
  • Poetry (poem, excerpt from a poem).
  • Epic (excerpt from a folklore work).
  1. “Humor and Satire”
  2. “Vocal Performance”

Opening Ceremony

The festival opened with welcoming speeches from:

  • Zaira Said-Khusaynovna Tazbaeva, Deputy Head of the Administration of the Kurchaloy Municipal District.
  • Adnan Khamidovich Majidov, People’s Artist of the Chechen Republic, member of the Presidential Council for Culture and Arts of the Russian Federation.
  • R. Daudov, Director of the Center for Folk Art, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation.

 

Awards Ceremony

After the concert program, the jury reviewed the performances and selected the winners. The awards ceremony followed, where the winners were presented with:

  • Diplomas (1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree).
  • Trophies.
  • Memorable gifts.
  • Bouquets of flowers.

Exhibition “Mekhkan Khazna”

As part of the event, the foyer of the Center for Culture and Arts hosted an expanded exhibition of works by amateur masters of decorative, applied, and fine arts, titled “Mekhkan Khazna.” This exhibition aimed to support and promote folk creativity.
