Ежегодно 28 августа в деревне Слобода празднуется православный праздник “Успение Пресвятой Богородицы”. У вепсов он называется “Emagan pai” (Емаган пяй ). Приходят жители со всех деревень, заходят в часовню , ставят свечи за здравие и за упокой, читают молитву, на улице проходят через икону “Успение”. Затем спускаются к речке, освящают воду крестом, бросают медные монетки, моются (купаются), набирают воду в бутылки с собой, чтобы освятить жилище и животных. В этот день вода считается святой в реке. Набранная вода хранится очень долго .

The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads.
