National unity day

November 4 is National Unity Day in the Russian Federation. Festive events dedicated to this important day will be held in the Sverdlovsk State Regional Palace of Folk Art! Events in honor of National Unity Day in the Russian Federation are united by the slogan “There are many peoples – one Homeland!“.

A wide variety of activities for any audience and age will take place in several locations of the Palace. In the conference hall from 10:30 to 11:30, Dmitry Leonidovich Yunyshev, a genealogist historian, Department of Archeology and Ethnology of UrFU, will enlighten on the topic “Looking for ancestors – we find ourselves.“

From 13:00 to 16:00, the conference hall will host master classes in decorative and applied arts for the whole family: painting Khokhloma, making a family amulet. Experts from the Luhansk People‘s Republic will conduct master classes:

– People‘s Artist of Luhansk region Natalia Zakharova;

– People‘s Master of Luhansk region Raevskaya Svetlana Alexandrovna.

Also, from 12:00 to 15:00, a celebration will be held in the Marble Foyer and Dance Hall dedicated to folk traditions, culture and creativity of the multinational people. In honor of the 2024 YEAR OF THE FAMILY, master classes are aimed at teaching traditional national family needlework, and each of the 10 national cultural farmsteads will present its own unique “Family Tree“ – “A man without a family is like a tree without fruit.“

The Sverdlovsk Regional Interethnic Library will present a visiting reading room “Literature of the peoples of Russia“ for all guests of the holiday. The audience will enjoy a large-scale interactive book exhibition dedicated to the literature of different peoples living in the Middle Urals.

The national unity holiday will not do without fun team games. “Ural Hut“ – “There is always a round dance at our gates“ – a program of Cossack and Russian national games, in which guests of the holiday will be able to take part.

From 13:00 to 15:00 in the Central area of the Marble Foyer, the guests of the holiday will get acquainted with the songs and dances of the peoples of Russia at the musical marathon “Every family is happy to celebrate“. The concert is attended by:

– Honored collective of folk art studio of folk dance “Sputnik“, GAUK SO “SGODNT“, head Olga Nikolaeva;

– Honored Folk Art Collective Russian Song Ensemble “Balovenya“, Vladimir region, Kameshkovo, head – Olga Abramova;

– Folklore ensemble “Altai Kai“, Altai Republic, Gorno–Altaysk, artistic director Urmat Yntaev;

– Governor‘s Ensemble of the national song “Seetei Yamal“, Yamalo–Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Salekhard, head Honored Worker of Culture of Yamal – Diana Ukolova;

– The Theater of song and word “Mood“, Donetsk People‘s Republic, Makeyevka, heads Marina Sudashova, Marina Goncharova.

From 12:00 to 15:00, the location of the Center of Traditional Folk Culture of the Middle Urals “People will not be born with skill, but they are proud of their craft“ will work in the Dance Hall for the guests of the holiday. Within the framework of the location, “Art workshops on crafts and crafts of the Urals“ from the families of Ural craftsmen will be organized, as well as a “Fair of products of Ural craftsmen“, representing the products of indigenous peoples living on the Ural land.

The buffet area will host a delicious part of the holiday – the Bread Festival – “Bread on the table, and the table – throne“, which will feature traditional bread and pastries of Ural national groups.

Throughout the holiday, along the perimeter of the Marble Foyer, guests will be able to watch the photo exhibitions “Diverse Russia“ about the customs and traditions of the peoples of Russia and “My Family“ – photos of national families living in Russia. There will also be various photo zones on the theme of the holiday with the image of the monument to Minin and Pozharsky, St. Basil‘s Cathedral, where guests will be able to capture the highlights of the day.

During the day, the People‘s Front, a humanitarian aid reception point for the participants of the SVO, will work.
